I received an email from my friend priest Fr.J. Walsh a chaplain of the Stella Maris Seafares Center here in Davao who asked me if I can share my own experience about what happened to my Son Benson Jr. Because an Italian missionary is coming and asked him if he can conduct a survey to parents,wivies,husbands who have been a victims of personal crisis while on board of their loved ones,This priest was assigned many years in Taiwan and Fr. J.Walsh knew what happened to me during those crucial time,he was one who find ways and means for my son's remains he seek help from the missionaries in Durban,South Africa thru internet ,he asked them to help us find my son for at that time we were all confused because the manning agency in Manila has no words to say about what was going on.I was in great pain for my husband was still on board and he did not know any thing about Benny'd death,It took for him one week to know and was thru me to tell him everything,yes too painful. Fr. J Walsh was there for me,from day one, he was supporting us until Benny's eternal rest.So I cannot resisted his request.This was sponsored by the International Christian Maritime Association. I thought I can handle this situation for its has been four years since the tragic happened.At first I was ok but as it goes along I cannot help myself I was crying,I told the priest ,Father even if its has been 4 years passed I still cannot help myself.it so heavy to relate the story as if my heart was broken into pieces.We end up one hour and 30 minutes.Fr. Bruno said he was moved on what I have experienced.I hope that I will be able to help and enlighten to all OFWs those who have a devastating pain of lossing someone in their life , what I have gone through.that they will see the meaning of life.Overseas worker are those who are always in danger,they gave their life fully for their families they are all prones to different kinds of calamities,.They are so precious in our life.please keep praying for them.also pray for my husband for he is an overseas worker too. What helps me to be strong during those turmoil days PRAYERS.the most power weapon I have.God bless us all. mother of benny.
